Day 1446 - A New dawn (A Parody)

The setting is the Twitterdilly Arms - the online (anti)social club that is home to Morrissey's Blue Rose Society.

GWO is serving behind the bar, and has two hardened drinkers, Boozy Kerry and MancLadMozfan, sat on bar stools opposite her. MancLad is sipping a vodka & cranberry, which has a cocktail umbrella poking out from it. He removes the umbrella, and uses the sharp wooden end to pick out a piece of peanut which is lodged between the only two teeth that remain on his top row. Boozy K has just been on a mine sweep of the bar, and has a pint glass full of a variety of drinks. She downs the contents in one, wipes her hand across her mouth, burps, and then quickly pulls her hair into an elastic band before throwing up all over MancLad's lap.

BOOZY K: (slurring) Soz about that. Let me clear it up.

Boozy K grabs a towelling mat from the bar, which has the word Guinness written on it, and starts to wipe the liquid vomit from MancLad's faded and dirty blue jeans.

MANC LAD: (slurring) Don't worry love, if anything that will improve my look.

A small group are sat at a table close to the jukebox. The group include Rat, Heather, EARS, Jaz, Moz Fiend, Marianne and comrade harps. They are all sat staring at their mobile (cell) phones.

MOZ FIEND: (staring at her phone) Morrissey's new novel sounds so exciting, and listen to what he has written on the Penguin website about it, "an American tale where, naturally, evil conquers good, and none live happily ever after, for the pangs of the empty experiences of flesh-and-blood human figures are the reason why nothing can ever be enough."

HEATHER: (staring at her phone) I like the first bit, "Beware the novelist... intimate and indiscreet... pompous, prophetic airs... here is the fact of fiction." I just can't wait for the release.

EARS: (staring at her phone) I like the last bit, "To read a book is to let a root sink down. List of the Lost is the reality of what is true battling against what is permitted to be true".  I love the use of the words, "let a root sink down".

COMRADE HARPS: (staring at phone) They've missed a comma.

HEATHER: Yes, I noticed that.

RAT: I didn't. Where have they missed one?

COMRADE HARPS: After the word true. It should read, "List of the Lost is the reality of what is true, comma, battling against what is permitted to be true." Otherwise it reads like "true battling".

RAT: Oh yeah, you're right.

JAZ: The cover picture of the runner-

MARIANNE: -Earl Young-

JAZ: -looks just like Moz, but with short hair. He must have stumbled across it online and decided it would be amusing to use it.

MARIANNE: I like it.

RAT: Hey, Jaz, have you seen that two new photos of your San Diego blue rose have been added to the BRS tumblr site?

JAZ: Really? No, I hadn't seen that. I'll look now.

Just then, the door of the Twitterdilly Arms opens, and in bursts a woman dressed all in orange, and sporting an orange wig. She is also wearing a blue rose. The woman looks exactly like Lil the Dancer from Twin Peaks - but in orange as opposed to red. It is Chuck aka Lucy the mechanical orange - self proclaimed fruit of the Blue Rose Society. She is attempting to pull the same face as Earl Young from the cover of List of the Lost.

Chuck walks over to the table where the small group are gathered, and addresses them.

CHUCK: Do you lot realise that you were supposed to hold the AGM of the BRS on June 21st?

The group stare blankly.

CHUCK: For Christ's sake, I'm not even in your silly gang, but I seem to know more about what goes on around here than any of you! Do none of you remember Rat's BRS AGM parody from last year? It was stated at the end of the piece by your Chairman, Loughton Lil, that the next AGM would be held on June 21st 2015. No doubt Rat was too busy fiddling with his wicket and balls to remember to write it.

RAT: I'm not the chairman, it's up to him to make arrangements for the AGM.

HEATHER: To be fair, Lil hasn't been around much in recent months, and if I'm honest, I'd completely forgotten you'd written that piece, Rats.

RAT: Yes, I noticed you'd not commented on it. In fact, apart from a few anonymous comments, hardly anyone commented on it. It makes me wonder why I bother writing my amusing parodies.

MOZ FIEND: You haven't written one of your parodies for ages, Rat.

RAT: And you wonder why? When nobody bothers commenting, it destroys the soul. Us writers need to know we are appreciated. I could understand if my parodies were dreary, like Bitter Bobby Neville's, the pessoa blogger, but they are a work of art.
(Turns to Chuck) You must know how I feel, the parody you published on your blog thing yesterday was really good, with the obvious exception of your ridiculous conclusion, and yet only three people have commented. Mind you, it didn't help that it only remained as the front page story for an hour and a half, before that boozy bint over there (looks towards Boozy Kerry, who is now laying on her back on the floor, laughing to herself for no apparent reason) replaced it with a groundbreaking piece about how the cover of Morrissey's new book is orange.

CHUCK: Well, unlike you, I don't need a load of brown nosers heaping false praise on me. Three comments is just fine; at least they are sincere. No one thinks your parodies are funny, the only reason you ever get any comments at all is because your little band of followers are all too scared to upset you, and on that point, that is why I am here. (Addressing the whole pub) I have come to take over the running of the Blue Rose Society.

RAT: You can't just take it over, you haven't even taken a rose to a concert yet.

CHUCK: That's your problem, Rat, you are the one who is always making up the rules. Who says you have to take a rose to a concert to be a member of the BRS? You keep trying to claim that the BRS is not your club, and yet it is always you making the rules. If it is Morrissey's Society, as you always state, then let him make the rules.

RAT: It WAS Our Mozzer who made the rule, you stupid orange! It was he who asked us to bring roses to his concerts. How many times must I state this? How can the BRS possibly work if nobody takes roses to concerts?

The orange Chuck goes quiet for a moment or two as she collects her thoughts, and then suddenly springs back into life.

CHUCK: The Blue Rose Society could have been huge by now, and concert halls could have been awash with roses, but Rat, because of your bullying and dictating, you've kept people away. The World of Morrissey blog is a revolution. I believe that if you weren't involved with the BRS, we could make it grow.

EARS: I don't want Rat to leave.

HEATHER: Nor me.

CHUCK: Your loyalty is commendable, but you must see that all the hatred towards the BRS, and all the negativity, is because of Rat. The group we have at TWoM is growing, and as long as Rat isn't involved, we can spread the message of the BRS, and one day soon, concert halls really will be full of beautiful blue roses.

The room goes quiet. Nobody speaks for a few minutes, until Rat stands up and addresses the room.

RAT: Chuck is of course right. The BRS has been successful in the US, but in Europe it has failed to take off, and for it to happen, I need to bow out. I call on Chuck and her friends to take over the running of the BRS for the upcoming European concerts, and let's see if they can spread the word. I meanwhile, will continue to wait for that promised MorrisseysWorld parody.

Just then, the toilet door opens, and out walks Manc Lad.

MANC LAD: I'd give it five minutes if I were you.

Day 1444 - Quando Quando Quando

The very observant GWO (@girlwithout) yesterday spotted that during Morrissey's perfor, er, singy thing of Everyday is like Sunday at the FYF Festival in California on Sunday, he changed the line "every day is silent and grey" to "tell me Quando Quando Quando". It transpires that Moz did the exact same thing on the second night at the San Diego Observatory.

To the outside world, Morrissey singing Quando Quando Quando means nothing whatsoever, and it hasn't even been mentioned by anyone on social media or at the Solow place, but to us MorrisseysWorlders, it is yet ANOTHER, HUGE 'coincidence' for us to add to our extremely long list.
For those who may be reading this and not having a clue what I am going on about, let me explain.

Quando Quando Quando is a song by Englebert Humperdinck, which is infamous in MorrisseysWorld due to it being played a number of times over the past eighteen months in the Twitterdilly Arms, accompanied by a video of the late Royce Reed dancing:

The song, and video of Royce, made it into the Twitterdilly Arms Chart on both Day 860 (reaching number 5) and Day 965 (reaching number 12). The only reason we ever got to know about this wonderful video of Royce dancing to Quando Quando Quando is because of..... ASTRA, who first played it in The Arms in January 2014. When the video (and song) made it into our chart, Astra posted the following half glazed (well it was 4am in the morning!) comment:

Oh my!

My eyes are half glazed now, but they must have been fully glazed when I first saw the chart yesterday afternoon... because I saw Quando Quando Quando... but I did not register the fact AT ALL, that dancing Royce made it all the way to your #5! lol!!

So never you mind - about my Jaynie Baby.

Because BABY, Jaynie can wait!

P.S.

Don't think to yourself for a single blue rose solitary second that I didn't see the entry the other day where you called me a french maid(!). I think you should stop pressing up against my peephole like that, Rat, for a start. Next thing I know if I'm not careful, you'll be asking me to have a go under your sofa!

Now...

*Where did I put my pink feather duster again?*

LOL at Royce dancing around in the middle of your chart!

Just LOL!!!

ROYCE REED

Meanwhile, Jaz has posted a review of her concert experience from that second night in San Diego:

Initially, I had taken 5 roses to San Diego but only 4 survived til doors opened I gave one to Marianne and the other two to friends I made in SLC. Mind you these people have never seen the original MorrisseyWorld blog but what they have seen is a blue rose in Moz's back pocket or they thought they were pretty. (Not that I or blue roses are anything special, we're just impossible) In fact there were others in the queue who whispered amongst themselves positively. In fact, I regret not taking more roses. It's possible for the first few rows to be awash with roses, at a small venue, the observatory was decently sized. I stood between Moz and Boz what I call the sweet spot, and Marianne found her way over to Jesse's side so either side was flanked by a rose. Seeing as I had no luck even was encourgaed to "get in there girl and give him your rose" by a complete stranger, my last chance was the encore, so i had my friend who had a clear view of the stage launch the rose my tummy churned when he looked up from his bow i wasn't sure if we hit him or something but seconds after I was the rose lifted and placed by Bruce Lee's image. UK people I know you can do the same if not more. I know Chuck is planning on taking silk roses, which is nice but I think the delicate fresh ones are best. What about anyone else? I wish everyone the best of luck.

Jaz's encouraging words to the "UK people" are all well and good, but with the exception of myself and EARS, I don't believe that there are any BRS members in the UK - certainly not ones who have actually shown any desire to take a rose. We used to have Marcus the Greek, but unfortunately he turned his back on the BRS after his fall-out with Broken. Maybe if Chuck does take a rose, her UK based splinter group followers, such as Bitchy Bobby Neville, Kerry the Cocktail, GOB and LizzyCat will follow suit - although, actually that won't work, because Chuck is attending the Paris concert, which comes after the UK concerts! Maybe Manclad will come up trumps in Hull? Hmm.

And finally, just as I have finished writing, Jaz has posted on twitter to say that Morrissey has used the words Quando Quando Quando on stage before.... PRE it being played in The Arms by Astra! Oh well, c'est la vie!

Day 1442 - List of the Lost and another blue rose

On Day 1405 of FTM I promised that I would cease from blogging until one of the following happened:

A) A new MW parody appeared
B) Morrissey accepted a FIFTH blue rose
C) Morrissey wore a Bieber t-shirt
D) There was no D

I would like to say that a new parody has been posted (or the promised Broken/OM essay), but unfortunately that is not the case..... however, on Friday night at the San Diego Observatory, Morrissey picked up the blue rose that BRS member, Jaz, threw at his feet - an accepted FIFTH blue rose.... actually, there have been more than five accepted, as I previously forgot to include Vulgar Angie's bunch of blue roses that Moz accepted in LA, or indeed my flashing plastic one that Donnie Knutson passed on to Moz for me in New York.

A photo of Jaz's blue rose has also been added to the BlueRoseSociety tumblr, as has a picture of Marianne's (@Sadglamour) rose outside The Observatory. Welcome Marianne to the BRS.

JAZ'S BLUE ROSE (PHOTO BY @AGENTBAZ)

JAZ'S BLUE ROSE SEEN DURING KISS ME A LOT (VIDEO ALSO BY AGENT BAZ)

MARIANNE'S BLUE ROSE (KINDLY DONATED BY JAZ)

In other news, Morrissey's debut novel, entitled List of the Lost, is to be released in September. *Hangs out bunting, waves blue roses, sounds trumpets* Who needs a new album when you have a book to look forward to? Surely there will be tell-tell signs to link the writing style to that of the short story, Brazil, which was published on MorrisseysWorld, and can be found on the BRS tumblr (and also on Day 1286 of FTM). Let the anticipation begin.

In other other news, both Broken and Astra have been seen in The Arms in recent days, Morrissey sang Let the right one slip in in San Diego (for only the second time ever), a new Moz t-shirt (with Moz's head on Sean Connery's body) is being sold at concerts, and most exciting of all, my favourite song from WPINOYB, Oboe Concerto was sound checked last week, which means it's highly awaited live debut MUST be coming soon.

And finally finally, my favourite photo of the week - David Van Day performing this week in an old people's home. David Brent meets Derek:

*Goes off singing* There's a song I can't stand, and, its stuck in my head, there's a song.....

Day 1438 - The orange juggler

Morrissey last night appeared on James Corden's The Late Late Show, singing Kiss Me A Lot. Whilst he was in the Green Room, Moz was filmed juggling oranges, which got the MW splinter group community, The World of Moz, very excited, as they immediately saw this as a nod to their leader, Chuck aka Orange M├ęcanique. And perhaps they are right, although of course, Moz does has previous for tossing oranges!

As for the perfor, er, singing thing.... MAGNIFIQUE! Oh, Steve Barnett and you other c**ts at Harvest, so much to answer for.

Anyway, I'm not supposed to be here, so I'll f**k off again, and only reappear when that parody or essay arrives..... I may be some time!

Foot Note: Morrissey's interview with Larry King on Monday has now appeared on the internet, plus Kiss Me A Lot:

Day 1426 - Mute witness

On Day 1405 I promised not to write another blog entry until the new MW parody arrived, and I am a man of my word, so this is definitely my very last entry until the parody, or the Our Mozzer/Broken essay, arrives.

The only reason that I am writing this today, is because both Astra and Broken have made appearances in The Arms in the past 24 hours, with Astra mainly posting Bardot pics, and Broken mainly posting Bieber pics - some things never change. Both Broken and Astra interacted with some of the (ir)regulars, but I have not joined in any of the conversations - I am a mute witness.... or technically, a non typing witness.

Here are the highlights:

Broken:

"Those who turn away from TV thereby turn away from reality: this renders them insane as they look at the facts just as they are"

"Dark chocolate is the ultimate adult pleasure; it is delicious but utterly unfulfilling, which leaves one craving more."

"Our lungs quietly die... the heart stops... the mind shrinks... the face is distorted and mashed by thumps from an intellectual pneumatic drill"

" - daytime TV. Anthony Worrall Thompson is born."

"Jordan demonstrates aptly all that is wrong with England - if a lump of her breast falls out, she simply picks it up and shoves it back in."

"The fastest way to achieve success in pop music is to present oneself as a half-wit impersonating an imbecile."

"Alcohol shows us who we really are and shows others who we really are not."

"If you don't know yourself, there's a small chance you might love yourself. If you love yourself, good luck forgetting who you are."

"Yes, I am a poet. No, I am not human."

"Pop music tells us life is meaningless, love is optional, and there is no God - something Michael Bolton forgot to say."

"The only thing worse than being famous is being anonymous."

"Sadness chases me like rush hour traffic. Contentment is a 'Change of Priorities Ahead' sign."

"Media Brand Britain PLC: purchase, purchase, purchase. Smile fondly at the royals. Swallow your antidepressants. Eat, drink and purchase."

"One doesn't wish for anything but oblivion."

"Life is one never ending beauty contest."

"When the weeds flower and obscure your garden shed, remember usefulness is the most useless thing."

"The forthcoming Our Mozzer-Broken essay is close to completion."

Astra:

"Silently unwinding like somnambulant panther"
"An unusual capacity for sensation, with nothing to hold me, and my attention wrapped in twos"
"Quiet intervals of nothing"
"The careful indifference of artifice should never be contrived. Unselfconscious authenticity. BE THE ONLY"
"Absurdity is delicious. Irony is my favourite decadence. My life unfurls with a sly smile. And I taste only whispers, skin and saltiness"
"Leftover surrender tastes like the sea"
"Courvoisier and the taste of how good solitude can feel, at the bottom of a first glass. Not that I would know. I never drink Courvoisier."

The twitter account @MorrisseyParody also sprung back into action a couple of days ago, with it's first tweets since September last year. It tweeted:

"@TheRatsBack "The trouble with you, is all that you do. It's what everyone knows to be true."

I've obviously upset old MP, which I'm pretty sure is our old friend, Kevin Mar(r)inan. Earlier today he also posted a song, Bright Blue Rose by Mary Black:

So, that's it from me until the parody or essay arrives.

Goodnight.

Day 1420 - "There's no way back to the world you knew"

There has been nothing from Our Mozzer since last Thursday, when 'R' posted this message on his behalf on FTM:

A treat in store.

I am reliably informed via fax, received a few minutes ago, that prior to the posting of a new comedy piece, two wonderful writers will give the BRS a treat in return for their unwavering support and Jjaz's blue rose.

Our Mozzer and Broken have together written a short piece of prose, which is currently being edited by Mikey.

OM wrote in the faxed message: "This piece is beauty itself, by beauty, for beauty, without reference to the ugliness we see all around us in, as Astra warmly reminded us, what is a truly vile world. No mention of Kim Kardashboard, Katy Putrid, The Peckhams OBE or indeed, thank God, David Ca-moron. One can only hope the world soon catches up with us by winding the clock back to the pre-TV era and lighting a candle in honour of the human spirit. When will we have a revolution against television? When will we begin to think for ourselves? Suffice to say, the piece will touch you in ways words never have. Thank you Broken. Thank you BRS."
'R'

It would appear that Mikey is taking rather a long time in editing the 'short piece of prose' written by Our Mozzer and Broken, and as to the new "comedy piece", well, who knows when we will see that!

Meanwhile, Morrissey has been busy posting a number of TTY statements, including one rather bizarre one entitled, 'Blind girl climbs on stage to touch Morrissey at historic Sao Paulo show in Brazil'. There is no text to accompany this piece, just a video montage of Now My Heart Is Full. Bizarre. Morrissey has also written tributes to Lynn Anderson and Cilla Black, both of whom died this week. In the Cilla piece, Morrissey wrote, "there's no way back to the world you knew" - now if that isn't a song lyric, then I don't know what is.

And now, here is the Twitterdilly Arms Chart, which features Nobody Loves Us, as posted by Mademoiselle Fifi, who made a brief appearance this week.
